Coffee Hound is headed up north this weekend for Coffee Fest Chicago! There, Coffee Hound roaster and former Brewer’s Cup finalist, Trace Armstrong, will compete in the America’s Best Espresso competition. Accompanying him will be fellow Hounders, Kyle Scaturro and Wally Houldsworth. The event will take the form of a bracket-style competition, putting the best roasters from some of the Midwest’s finest coffee shops head to head to crown a champion. For each round, competitors will present three shots of espresso to three judges, with those who serve the best espresso advancing to the next round. When asked for his thoughts on the upcoming competition, Trace expressed his confidence that Coffee Hound’s Switchback would take him far; but most of all, he was just excited to share one of our customer favorites with the judges and with Chicago.
