As 2012 turned into 2013, we found ourselves looking back throughout the past year and in more ways than one, the past ten years. Steve and April were awarded “Small Business Award” by the McLean County Chamber of Commerce! We celebrated our 10th year of business at the Bloomington location with a fantastic party filled with friends, food from local food truck (bus) Two Blokes And A Bus, and beer brewed by Destihl with our coffee! It was a crazy night of music and dancing and celebrating. We would like to once again send a big thank you to all of you who have supported the Hound for so many years! Thanks for celebrating with us!
2012 also brought some major changes in our management and roasting staff. Veteran barista Mike Carmody, spent quite a bit of time roasting with owner Steve Fritzen and became our Head Roaster last Summer. He has continued to lift the bar on our coffee quality ever since! You can catch him Monday- Friday roasting at the back of the Bloomington Hound. Anna Barnett has moved on from managing both cafes to become our Director of Coffee. She’s responsible for all things retail (new bags, quality control with Steve and Mike, spending time with our wholesale customers, and training our wonderful staff) Our management team is now comprised of two Store Managers, Meghan Meyer (Bloomington) and Tony Andrules (Normal) as well as two Assistant Managers, Steve Replogle (Bloomington) and Kaleigh Post (Normal). They are all responsible for keeping both Hounds running smoothly and our customers extra happy!
The Holiday Season brought about our new Online Store! Coffee can be ordered and sent directly to your home. We also have implemented a subscription service that allows monthly deliveries to automatically arrive on your doorstep! We are super pumped that we can finally send all of you Hound ex-pats something you’ve been missing! Check it out, and if you’re in town stop by either Hound to take part in our March Madness festivities! There’s something for everyone! Happy New Year!
